We had a very happy and successful series of Harvest celebrations - it was lovely to welcome children and teachers from St Lawrence's school together with the Archbishop of York on Sunday, whilst the choir were particularly melodious at Evensong before a cheerful Harvest supper on Wednesday. Thank you to all those who contributed in whatever way and whichever form.

Festival of the Friends

On Saturday 23rd, the annual Festival of the Friends of St Lawrence took place - as usual, marking the anniversary of the 1883 dedication of the new church building. What better way to spend a sunny York afternoon than with Evensong and a pleasant tea? Thanks to all who came and made it such a happy occasion again. Here is a photo of some of the choir after Evensong - though some had already hurried off to grab a place for tea! Mr Jackson and most of the choir after Choral Evensong Next Friends of St Lawrence talk: Friday 18th September, 7p.m. - Canon Marsh's son will  be talking about growing up in St Lawrence's vicarage on Lawrence Street in the 1940s and 50s - not to be missed!  In the Hall, tea and cake served.
